Gargantua Gear

With a proud history as a pioneer of multidisciplinary theatre with a focus on media integration, Theatre Gargantua is also dedicated to supporting the development of new and exciting multidisciplinary work by artists in the wider community. One way that we support community arts development is through our gear rental service: Gargantua Gear.

This program opens our collection of technical equipment including projectors, speaker systems, wireless microphone packs, and camera equipment to local artists and arts organizations.

Our goal is to make access to theatre production equipment equitable and affordable. Therefore, we have adopted a sliding scale pricing model for our rentals. We offer our equipment at competitive base fees, as well as up to a 30% reduction for eligible artists, and we will ask those with the means to pay closer to market price to help us offset the discounted prices to support this program. Rental fees go towards keeping our equipment in a state of good repair and updating our inventory as technology evolves.

We will also offer access to our equipment to theatre students and educators to support hands on experience and training with industry standard equipment. Rent our projectors for your classroom for a week, use our video hardware or software for a training workshop, or come into our offices for a day of self-directed learning with our full inventory.
