where is Chatham-Kent?

Chatham-Kent is a single-tier municipality in Southwestern Ontario, Canada encompassing over 23 communities. The municipality is situated between Lake Erie to the east and Lake St. Clair to the west, with the Lower Thames River running through its center. Chatham-Kent is approximately 80 km east of Windsor and about 115 km southwest of Toronto, making it accessible via Highway 401 . The Kiwanis Theatre can be found in the Chatham Cultural Centre adjacent to the picturesque Tecumseh Park. Aside from the Theatre, the Cultural Centre houses the Thames Art Gallery and the CK Museum, offering a diverse range of cultural experiences.

The Sidestream festival takes place just days after their Emancipation Day celebrations on August 2nd. Chatham is home to multiple slave havens – refuge points for many slaves fleeing the USA. See also the Buxton National Historical Site & Museum and the CKBHS & Black Mecca Museum.
