SCHOLARSHIPS FOR SKILLS DEVELOPMENT FOR DESIGNERS, STAGE MANAGERS, AND TECHNICIANS 

Canadian Stage in partnership with  Native Earth Performing Arts, and Theatre Gargantua has created a scholarship which will fund up to $2,000 for professional technicians, stage managers and designers in efforts to invest resources in the live performance community..

Theatre Gargantua has been mentoring artists for over 28 years and values the sharing of accrued knowledge with future generations of theatre makers. The Scholarship for Skills Development for Designers, Stage Managers and Technicians is providing opportunities to aide professional artists in honing their practice and providing the resources to foster artistic innovation. This grant is designed to support professional live performance technicians and designers in skill development, adapting and expanding their creative toolbox to meet new opportunities in live performance.

The applicants may select any course of study, including workshops, classes, online tutorials, university classes and any other program that has a fee that the fund can cover or supplement.

Eligible Expenses:

-required fees

-required textbooks and supplies

-transportation costs

-unsubsidized child care costs

-tuition or course fees

Application Requirements:

-a letter of interest (Max 2 Pages) Describe the program, course or training  that you wish to undertake. How will this aid you in your work moving forward and support your work in live performance. Include the costs or fees for tuition/materials that you will need

-a resume or CV

-a link to the proposed course and invoice of cost, or receipt of tuition payment
